A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store on your device. Similar technologies — local storage, session storage and pixel tags — work in comparable ways. They let a site remember something between requests: that you have dismissed a banner, which language you chose, or that a series of page views came from the same visit.
Cookies are described as session cookies when they are deleted as soon as you close the browser, and persistent when they survive until an expiry date. A first-party cookie is set by the site you are visiting; a third-party cookie is set by another domain whose content the page loads.
This is a marketing website. It has no user accounts, no shopping basket and no advertising, so it uses very few cookies.
| Strictly necessary | Keep the site available and secure — load balancing, protection against automated abuse, and remembering your cookie choice. These are set on our own domain, cannot be switched off, and do not require consent. |
|---|---|
| Preference | Remember choices you make, such as dismissing a notice, so you are not asked again on every page. Set only after you have accepted them. |
| Analytics | Give us aggregate counts of page views and referring sources so we can see which pages are useful. Set only after you have accepted them. We configure analytics with IP truncation and without cross-site tracking, and we do not use the data to build advertising profiles. |
| Advertising and tracking | Not used. We set no advertising cookies, run no retargeting pixels, and do not share visit data with advertising networks or data brokers. |
Where analytics or preference cookies are in use, the current list of names, providers, purposes and lifetimes is shown in the cookie banner's preferences panel, and is kept up to date there rather than in this document.
Some page resources are loaded from third-party domains. Even where no cookie is set, that provider necessarily receives your IP address and browser user-agent as part of the request:
We do not embed social network buttons, comment widgets, session-replay tools or heat-mapping scripts.
Strictly necessary cookies are set as soon as you open the site, because the site cannot be delivered securely without them. Anything else is set only if you accept it.
You can change or withdraw your choice at any time through the cookie preferences link in the footer, or by clearing this site's cookies in your browser. Withdrawing consent does not affect data already collected, and does not stop strictly necessary cookies.
Every major browser lets you see which cookies are stored, delete them, and block them for individual sites or in general. The settings are documented by each vendor:
Blocking all cookies will not break this site, since it has no functionality that depends on being logged in.
We update this policy when we add or remove a technology, or when the law changes. The effective date at the top shows when the current version took effect.
How we handle personal data more generally is set out in our Privacy Policy. For any question about cookies, contact:
